“Fresh off a strong performance at SoFi Stadium the Mira Costa Marching Band and Colorguard had an incredible showing this past Saturday at the Bands of America Southern California Regional Championships!  This was Costa’s first performance in Bands of America, the National Circuit, and after performing alongside some of the top ensembles from California, Arizona and Nevada in the Preliminary Round, they earned a 1st division rating (the highest festival style rating you can achieve in Bands of America), 7th overall in the show (an AMAZING accomplishment amid this absolutely STACKED field of competitors) and ranked as high as 5th overall in Music Performance and 4th in Individual Visual!
At the end of the Preliminary Round awards ceremony the Mustangs were also invited to perform again in the Final Round and can now list Bands of America Regional Finalist amongst their impressive accolades!  This is a significant honor nationally with Bands of America Regional Championships having taken place in Texas, New Jersey and Missouri this past weekend alone along with the Southern California Regional and a total of 80 bands not making finals in their respective regionals across the nation.  At the end of the night Mira Costa had the chance to share the field at a full retreat where the score they earned from the adjudicators ranked them a point and a half over last year’s Nevada State Circuit Champion!  We were in rarified air indeed!  Congratulations to all the students, Ms. Forrester and the staff, and a huge thank you to all our amazing parent volunteers!  We could not do it without you!!”
