1st place finish – MCHS Marching Band & Colorguard – Ayala Music in Motion Tournament

posted in: Accolades

We are extremely proud of our students and their performance this past weekend at the WBA Ayala Music in Motion Tournament. This was our first competition of the season in the Western Bands Association circuit. WBA encompasses bands across the states of California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah.

Mira Costa displayed immense growth with their performance this weekend, adding on a sneak peek of our final movement “Welcome to the Black Parade”. Another new addition was the use of CO2 cannons used to blast columns of steam into the air. The audience loved the surprise and it was visually effective.

We took home the 1st place trophy in our 4A division, including awards for best in all captions – Music Performance, Visual Performance, Percussion, and Color Guard! Congratulations to our hard-working students!

In addition to our successful performance this weekend, I was extremely impressed by our students’ professionalism and positive behavior. They represented our community very well!

Thank you to all the parent volunteers and Boosters for your hard work. Your efforts do not go unnoticed!
