MCHS Jazz Band performed @ MBUSD Board Meeting on December 14th to honor our outgoing and incoming school board members!

The MCHS Jazz Band was honored to be asked to attend a very special school board meeting this past Wednesday, December 14th. Sally Peel, who has served on the board these past four years, is the mother to our Ben Peel, a senior band member. We thank her for her years of service and for always representing the music department in all she does. We are beyond thrilled to welcome Tina Shivpuri to the school board. Tina served on our MCHS Band Booster Board for years and, just last year, was the Co-VP of Marching Band Operations. Her oldest son grew up in the band music program at MBUSD, and Tina knows firsthand how unique this program is. We are so thankful to Sally Peel and Jennifer Cochran for their service and welcome Tina Shivpuri, Jen Fenton, and Wysh Weinstein for the next four years representing our students.

Thanks to the Jazz Students and Mr. Carlson for performing at this important board meeting and honoring our band parents on the outgoing and incoming school board.

The Mira Costa High School Jazz Band, under the direction of Mr. Joel Carlson, performed Gordon Goodwin’s “Let it Snow!, Let it Snow!, Let it Snow!” at Wednesday’s Reorganizational Board meeting. Here is a link to the Jazz Band performance this past Wednesday https://youtu.be/jIazcOKPehM
