Marching Band & Colorguard 22/23 Season finished with the WBA Grand Championships!

posted in: Accolades

In an incredible finish to a historic season, the Mira Costa Marching Band and Colorguard advanced to their first Western Bands Association 4A-5A Grand Championship Finals after having earned a favorable rating overall and the Best Colorguard Award in 4A Class Championships a day earlier.  The season ending combined WBA 4A-5A Grand Championships is considered to be one of the, if not the premiere Marching Band and Colorguard event in the Western United States.

The thrilling final performance of the Mustangs 2022 competitive field show Let Them Eat Cake afforded them the opportunity to receive praise and critique from an internationally renowned panel of adjudicators and share the field with some of the most highly decorated bands from all over states of California and Nevada.  We could not be more excited by this finish and are energized to plan for the next season like never before!

A massive thank you goes out to all of the student and parent volunteers who helped us through this weekend and through the season!  In a moment of high winds and great altruism some of our volunteers practically dove behind some of our props to keep the from blowing away, allowing the production to go off as intended and into the record books for future generations to enjoy.  Thank you so much to all who loaded, unloaded, pushed, served, fund raised, organized, outfitted and so much more!  Qe could not do it without you!

Our staff and designers truly stepped up this season to offer our students a challenging and entertaining program that would compare favorably to our distinguished peer ensembles.  The content of our show was able to bring sincere delight to our audiences and adjudicators alike through the season and our performing members put in an incredible amount of work to bring the production to life in a way that leaves an amazing mark on the legacy of the Mira Costa Marching Band and Colorguard!
