The entire Mira Costa Bands program has been invited to perform in the National Concert Band Festival in our nation’s capital in April of 2020!
This festival is by invitation only, and invitations are only offered to the top 1% of band programs in the country. The National Concert Band festival in Washington D.C. is sponsored by the “Pershing’s Own”, the most elite Wind Ensemble in the United States Army, and features clinics and master classes with their members and conductor who known far and wide as some of the top musicians in the world!
The Mira Costa Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony have the opportunity to perform April 3rd, 2020 in Merchant Hall at the fabulous Hylton Performing Arts Center just outside of Washington D.C. and compete for “The President’s Cup”, a perpetual trophy that has resided in the hands of some of the best bands in the Nation for the last 12 years.
The Mira Costa Jazz Band will perform on April 2nd in the Jazz Festival, also hosted by the United States Army band’s renowned ensemble “The US Army Blues.”
The Mira Costa Marching Band & Colorguard has been invited and will perform in the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade®, one of Washington D.C.’s largest spectator events. In the words of the organizers of the parade, it “…is a vibrant springtime tradition set against the backdrop of DC’s most iconic landmarks along Constitution Avenue.” Catch this televised event on April 4th, 2020
