This past week at the Riverside City College Jazz Festival, one of the largest jazz festivals in Southern California with over 70 performing ensembles, Mira Costa’s own Jazz 1 and Jazz 2 both received Superior Ratings from distinguished panels of Collegiate and Professional Adjudicators!
Beyond ratings, at jazz festivals, ensembles are ranked competitively and we would like to congratulate our Combo on 3rd place in their division, Jazz 1 for taking 2nd place in the highest division with the highest score Mira Costa has ever received of 96.6, and again Jazz 1 for taking 1st place in Sight-Reading for the entire festival! You can see them one final time this year in concert on June 1st at 7PM in the Mira Costa Auditorium.
